Accessories for Post-Tensioning and Fastening Applications

Flickinger Machine supplies a variety of accessories for post-tensioning and fastening applications, including:

If minimal downtime is a priority for your company’s post-tensioning or fastening operations, maintaining a deep inventory of hydraulic jack accessories and hydraulic tools is recommended. Our team can provide those accessories and tools, from trustworthy, proven hydraulic equipment manufacturers.

Square Drive and Low Clearance Models for Every Fastening Application

Our selection of torque wrenches includes square drive, low clearance, and high cycle models, so we’ve got a torque wrench for every fastening setting.

Square drive models feature a reliable steel-body design, superior torquing strength, a 360-degree reaction arm, and a completely enclosed drive mechanism for maximum safety.

Low clearance wrenches are built for challenging industrial environments, where clearance is insufficient for a standard square drive torque wrench. Design features include an integrated reaction pad and a reduced nose radius for compact operation.

Our square drive and low clearance torque wrenches are built for high-cycle, efficient use. This reduces the total cost of ownership and maximizes uptime for your torquing operations.

Wedge and Collet Spreaders for Flange Maintenance and Rescue Operations

We offer several hydraulic spreader models, including wedge and collet spreaders for different types of flange designs. Which is appropriate for your application?

Hydraulic wedge spreaders are highly efficient, reliable, economical, and simple. However, they require a minimal amount of clearance between flange faces. Hydraulic wedge spreaders are also the standard choice for rescue teams, as they’re effective at opening vehicle doors in emergency situations.

Hydraulic collet spreaders are designed for flanges where there is zero clearance between interfacing surfaces. A wedge spreader won’t work in these settings, but a collet spreader can pull apart flanges even with zero clearance. They operate by threading through the flanges’ bolt holes and using a pair of expanding collets to grip the inside of each bolt hole. When loading forces are high enough, the flange faces are pulled apart, giving maintenance teams access to the pipe.

Our hydraulic spreaders are built by leading hydraulic equipment brands and designed for use in pipeline, oil & gas, aerospace, and other heavy-duty industries.

A Variety of Sizes for Every Type of Strand

Nose cones are the interfacing component between the post-tension jack and the anchor, providing the bracing force needed to guide the wedge seater in place. It’s a small but important part that factors into a post-tensioning team’s efficiency.

We offer several types of nose cones, from standard 4-inch designs up to 12-inch models. For deeper anchorage zones with concave surfaces, longer nose cones are recommended. There are also curved nose cones, designed for accessing anchorage zones around corners. While uncommon, curved nose cones are multisegmented, so they can be extended as necessary.

Improved Wedge Seating and Tensioning Efficiency

Hand wedge setters are simple tools that can give post-tensioning teams an edge during field operations. Prior to seating the wedge in the anchor pocket, post-tensioning teams tap it in to get the process started.

It’s common for operator crews to do this with hammers, but hand wedge setters are designed for the task. They slot into the anchor pocket while securing the wedge, allowing operators to initially seat the wedge in one smooth motion. Crews save precious seconds with every wedge they seat, so hand wedge seaters deliver a rapid return on investment.

Several Diameter Options for Post Tensioning Operations

Grippers and gripper blocks are responsible for securing the strand and threading it into the post-tension jack. Like other types of wedges, grippers are available in different sizes depending on the strand’s diameter and texture.

We offer a full array of gripper sets for every type of strand, including grippers designed for fine or coarse-textured strand.

Gripper blocks provide a stable backstop while the grippers assist with the tensioning process. They keep the strand in place during tensioning and establish how far the strand can be pulled.

Our gripper blocks are designed for rugged, heavy-duty use. They are also designed to switch out easily, so worn or damaged gripper blocks can be changed out in the field.
